Togni Rebaioli '1703' Vino Rosso Nebbiolo 2017

Nebbiolo from sandy soils, think alpine Roero, in the unknown Val Carmonica (connecting Brescia and Valtellina). From vines planted in the 70's, this has a gentle open weaving of understated tannin and lifted floral aromatics - think brisk, sunny autumn mornings. Its red fruits are small and its demeanour is refined and elegant.
"Liquorice and amaro herbs, dark cherry, some flowers and spice. It’s a deep and rolling beauty, dusty tannin, generosity of flavour cut with firm cool acidity, loads of spice and fine tannin on a long finish. Distinctive. So ‘of a place’. Great expression of Nebbiolo here." Gary Walsh - The Wine Front
