Rainoldi have been producing this wine since 1983 and it is one of the regions greatest ambassadors. 

100% Nebbiolo (locally called Chiavennasca) from the Sassella sub-zone of Valtellina, grown on steep, stony, mineral-rich soils. The Riserva sees about 24 months in large Slavonian/French oak botti before further tank and bottle aging for a year before release. Rainoldi only produces the Riserva in the best vintages.

Classic Valtellina! Perfumed and lifted with spicy cherry fruit, amaro herbs and wood smoke. A pretty-yet-serious wine with refreshing red fruits and a steely backbone of alpine acidity and small tannins. Give it plenty of air.
