Tramontane is the entry-level range from Philippe Gard and Andy Cook — the same team behind Coume del Mas, one of Roussillon's benchmark estates — and it is one of the great value discoveries in our range. Launched in 2006, Tramontane sources old-vine fruit from neighbouring growers across the Albères mountain range behind Argelès, on the clay-limestone soils of the Côtes Catalanes. The winemaking philosophy is identical to Coume del Mas: honest, no-frills, focused entirely on the pure expression of variety and place. No oak. No fuss. Just excellent old-vine fruit handled with precision and care.  The range spans old-vine Grenache Noir — vivid and lively with a full, fruit-packed palate and natural acidity that keeps it fresh and energetic — Grenache Gris from the Albères, whole-bunch pressed and aged in barrel for proper nougat richness, and Macabeu, a textured Mediterranean white of citrus oil and orchard fruit character. These are wines that deliver far above their price point — the same obsessive terroir focus as Coume del Mas at a fraction of the price. An ideal entry point into the wines of Roussillon, and a brilliant everyday bottle for lovers of Grenache, southern France and honest Mediterranean winemaking.
