Italy produces more distinct red wine styles than any other country on earth — and this is where we live. Our Italian red wine collection is anchored by Nebbiolo — Barolo, Barbaresco, Langhe, Valtellina, Gattinara and the full sweep of Alto Piemonte — alongside the vibrant, characterful varieties that share its homeland: Barbera, Dolcetto, Grignolino, Freisa, Vespolina and Croatina. Beyond Piedmont and the Alps, we range into Sicily, where Nerello Mascalese on the volcanic slopes of Etna produces wines of extraordinary elegance and finesse — often compared to Burgundy for their transparency and sense of place. Etna Rosso is one of the most exciting wine stories in Italy right now, and we are proud to stock it. Further south and across the peninsula — Tuscany, Umbria and Abruzzo — we seek producers who farm with care, work with indigenous varieties, and make wine that honestly reflects its place.
