Barolo is one of the world's great wines — and one of its most demanding. Made entirely from Nebbiolo in the Langhe hills of Piedmont, it is a wine of extraordinary complexity, structure and longevity. Dark cherry fruit, roses, tar, dried herbs, tobacco and an iron-boned tannin structure that softens and opens over years — sometimes decades — in the cellar.  We choose our Barolo carefully and deliberately. These are not the big-production, heavily-oaked commercial bottles that dominate the export market — they are wines from small family estates who farm with care, respect their terroir, and make Barolo that honestly reflects its commune, its cru and its vintage. Barolo represents one of the great value opportunities in fine wine right now. While Burgundy has become increasingly inaccessible, serious Barolo from a committed small producer remains — for now — within reach of the serious drinker who knows where to look.
