Anduma is our gateway to the classic wines of Piedmont — a project delivering authentic, high-quality expressions of the region's all-star native grape varieties at prices that make serious Italian wine genuinely accessible. Working with a brilliant, traditionally-minded family winery halfway between Asti and Alba — with roots going back almost 200 years — Anduma produces a tight range of Piedmont classics that showcase each variety with clarity and honesty. The quality-to-price ratio is exceptional across the board. The range covers the full sweep of Piedmontese wine culture. Barolo from La Morra, traditionally aged in large Slavonian oak, elegant and open with a latticework of fine tannins. Barbaresco from Neive, aromatic and textured with red cherry, fennel and fresh leafy tobacco. Langhe Nebbiolo — what Gary Walsh of The Wine Front called "a nice frisky thing to drink" — this is proper varietal Nebbiolo under $40. Their Dolcetto, the region's ultimate lunch wine is medium-bodied, juicy and completely without pretension. Anduma Grignolino is up there with the best and still a wild bargain. Arneis, Piedmont's premier white variety, has classic white florals, zesty citrus and light white fruit. These are the wines Piedmontese families drink at home. Honest, characterful and deeply rooted in their region.
