Tucked away in Valnerina—a picturesque valley in Umbria along the Nera River—Annesanti is trailblazing wine production as the area’s sole producer. Since taking control of his family’s polycultural farm in 2014, Francesco Annesanti has expanded the vineyards from four to seven hectares, embraced organic and biodynamic farming principles, and remained firmly focused on local varieties.

His wines are defined by character, freshness, and purity, clearly showcasing both Francesco’s skill as a producer and Valnerina’s untapped potential for high-quality grape growing. Working with a combination of stainless steel, demijohn, and amphora, he captures his terroir with striking authenticity—an approach that has earned attention from serious international markets, no small feat for such a vinously unknown rural corner.

While the initial draw may be his remarkable Trebbiano Spoletino-led amphora bottlings, the entire range delivers textured, distinctive, and deeply satisfying wines across the board.
